Marci is a budding entrepreneur after a 21-year career in television news in Minot and Bismarck. Now business owner, speaker and coach, she works with a passion for helping people reach their potential. She is married to Jim, the man of her dreams, and has two wiener dogs, Mickey and Molly.
Marci is the owner and president of Leaving Impressions, Inc., a small business which offers Media Relations Consulting services, Professional Development training and a bit of artwork on the side. Clients who work with Marci include businesses, not-for-profit and government agencies who wish to establish great relationships with members of the media, and business owners who want to keep their best employees, save money, and avoid the high costs of turnover by creating a culture of growth, leadership, loyalty and recognition among employees in the workplace.
For 21 years Marci worked in local television news, in Minot and Bismarck, North Dakota. She has a passion for helping people reach their potential and places a high value on establishing trusting, friendly and overall great relationships with people in her community and state. That passion has become what fuels her business--a service for people who rely on the power of the media, but don’t have the tools to properly tap into that power. Marci’s Media Relations Consulting services include helping you get noticed by news reporters, how to pitch a news story, knowing which elements are highly effective in a press release, and how to communicate your organization's message effectively, clearly, and comfortably.
Marci also provides Professional Development Coaching services with a focus on leadership training. She is a certified member of the John Maxwell team. She believes strongly that a company’s strongest asset is its people. Invest in them--by continuing to provide resources for training, development and recognition--and you are investing in a stronger company, now and for the future.
There is a special place in Marci’s heart for non-profit organizations and local charities. She is involved in many boards or does volunteer work for agencies which serve and foster the faith and growth of young people—including Central Dakota Children's Choir, Charles Hall Youth Services, Camp of the Cross Ministries and Heart River Bridges of Hope. She is a keynote speaker at schools and for events across the state, in which she shares a message of encouragement about positive self-worth—the foundation for success in life. Marci has emceed countless fundraisers, luncheons and banquets for local charities and community organizations.
Marci was raised on small grain and dairy farm near Douglas, North Dakota, and was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Douglas.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcasting from Minot State University. She is a member of the Bismarck-Mandan Chamber of Commerce, Pride of Dakota, and the National Association of Professional Women.
As for her artwork--it is inspired by nature. Each piece is truly unique, featuring a framed and matted, stamped verse of faith, encouragement or inspiration embellished with a preserved or painted leaf, heads of wheat, a feather or seashells.
Marci and her husband Jim live in Mandan with their two dachshunds, Mickey and Molly, who enjoy protecting the family and neighborhood by sitting on the deck and barking at the deer, birds, bunnies and squirrels in their backyard near the Missouri River.
