For one, health means completing marathons, another it means going for a walk. It may mean a bold curiosity in science, philosophy, and religion, gardening or an occupation. It could mean many friendships and connections and it could mean a kinship with a just few. Health can mean a quiet peace and the recognition and acceptance of emotions like anger, and fear.
While health means different things to different people, through these differences we can discover new approaches. Each day we can learn new ways of thinking or explore new activities. A great definition of health comes from North Dakota State University’s student health services: health is a lifelong process of becoming aware of choices toward a fulfilling life.

Through the activities and speakers at the Women’s Health Conference we teach the status of health is dynamic. Our bodies, minds and social circumstances are in consent flux responding to a myriad of different conditions faced every day. Health is not static nor is it one-size-fits-all nor are today’s choices the only set to serve us in the future.
