Stress has serious negative consequences on your health. The National Institute of Health shares three different types of stress can carry physical and mental health risks: "... some people experience mainly digestive symptoms, while others may have headaches, sleeplessness, depressed mood, anger, and irritability... Over time, continued strain on your body from routine stress may lead to serious health problems, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, anxiety disorder, and other illnesses." Utilizing an evidence-based approach to identify stressors, personal signs and symptoms of stress, practice coping techniques, and plan ways to prevent stress's harmful effects, Aly walks participants through the creation of their personalized plan that can be put into action immediately. The result is the ability to foster an improved quality of life through effectively and positively coping with stress. Aly shares 3 tips for coping with Stress: Journaling is an excellent coping skill as well as a prevention technique; it all depends on how you use it. If you invest time into journaling on a regular basis, it allows you stay in touch with your thoughts & feelings so as figure out ways to best handle them.
Try to use an opposite emotions technique to cope: Next time you feel angry, do something that makes you feel joyful! If you are SAD, don't watch a Lifetime movie...turn on something that makes you LAUGH! Where your focus goes, your ENERGY flows. Carve out some "ME" time!
