Heidi Mihelich Demars is a multi-passionate community builder. She is a 2013 Bush Fellow, Co-op Developer, and Certified Non-Profit Professional. She thrives on creating connections between consumers and producers and working with others to improve the quality of life in the Bismarck-Mandan community. She has a Bachelor’s of Science degree from UND in Interdisciplinary Studies with a track in Ecology and Health, and a minor in Nonprofit Leadership. She cares deeply about ND and advancing sustainable agriculture in our state.
She is one of the founders of the BisMan Community Food Co-op which is a consumer-owned cooperative with over 2,5000 active member-owners. The co-op opened its doors in May 2016 and offers a wide variety of fresh, healthy, and local foods. In addition to healthy foods, the co-op offers a community education space where they host a number of cooking classes and workshops.
